  So, I've used this surgery several times when visiting family, and as I'm now living with a relative whilst at university I did a postal registration- you can print out the GMS1 form and send it to most surgeries who are willing to accept it. Today I rang up to find out if it'd gone through and got told to come up and show my ID to complete it, which I did. Upon entering, I saw the waiting room full to the brim, a queue for both the reception and the chemist, and the ONE receptionist for the surgery told me they had binned my application as "we don't take postal applications". If that's the case, why was I told otherwise? She proceeded to try to explain, condescendingly, the process of application and I told her I know how it's done, I've moved several times. Then she said because my address on my ID doesn't match my application address she couldn't process it... So, despite having a relative who used to work at the surgery and who has the same surname as me, who they could have contacted to corroborate with (because that's too much like common sense), they've made more work for everyone and set my medication back by at least a week. Oh, there's a point- all prescriptions face a backlog of at least a week if not ten days. Now, I can understand having to follow protocol and all that jazz but there was no need for the receptionist to be so impolite, nor for my application to be binned. What if I had been applying from a distance rather than from down the road and urgently needed to see the doctor? I wouldn't rely on a walk in at the hospital as they're rarely actually of any use. And why only one receptionist? I'm fairly certain I saw three to four computers- where are they all at? This is why you don't amagamate several surgeries and pray it works.

  Awful place. I’ve been trying to get an appointment all afternoon have rang 3 times now and been on hold for 10 minutes every time. When I’ve been to the doctors before the reception staff are so rude, did not feel comfortable speaking to them at all. Definitely won’t be going back.
